Wareham’s Christmas-ready!

It's official - Christmas is here in Wareham!

For the past two weekends volunteers have been busy making Wareham ready for the festive season. It culminated with Councillor Lucia Kirk, Wareham’s Mayor, officially turning on the Christmas tree lights, with Canon Simon Everett, Rector of Wareham, blessing the tree.

Many thanks to all the many who made it possible, including Ian Shrek Davey, Colin and his team, the Brodie James family, Andy Baggs and local restaurant bars, ‘Nine’ and the ‘Horse and Groom’, for keeping them going with coffees and teas.

It looks so festive now in Wareham thanks to your efforts,  a much needed tonic after the year we’ve all had!

The ‘Light up Wareham for Christmas’ Facebook group are looking for ideas how to raise enough money to replace the slightly tired looking lights for Christmas 2021, so please send your suggestions to them!

Thanks to Sue Kemp for allowing us permission to use her photographs.
