Wareham Town Council News
Wareham recreation facilities
A public consultation which was held between 9 November and 3 December 2021 to ascertain residents’ views on upgrading the four play area facilities at Drax Avenue, Carey Hut Mistover Road, the Recreation Ground and Hauses Field.
93% of responses were in favour of the project and 82% were in favour of the Council applying for a public work loan of up to £310,000 to pay for the improvements.
Members debated the project proposal at a meeting of the Town Council held on 14 December 2021. Members carefully considered all the residents’ comments and views received and the impact the loan would have on the Council Tax Precept, before making a decision.
The Council agreed to progress with the recreation facilities project and to seek the approval of the Secretary of State for the Department of Levelling Up Housing and Communities to apply for a public works loan of £288,750 over the borrowing term of 20 years.
Thank you to all the residents who responded to the survey.
