We're passionate about all types of photography!
At Wareham Camera Club we are passionate about all types of photography – landscape, nature, macro, and all things digital. We are a friendly club and get together to hear quality speakers from around the country and to have competitions.
Our members have a wide range of experience and are always willing to share their knowledge with those new to photography. We are delighted to have survived the lockdown really well. Photography was a natural for Zoom and we have continued our weekly meetings all year. One great benefit was that we could have speakers from farther afield. As a result, when we resume in September, we are going to continue to have one session by Zoom each month and invite speakers who live in different parts of the country.
For a town the size of Wareham the club really punches above its weight – we are highly respected among other clubs for the quality of our photography, particularly in nature, and for the standard of our speakers. The two images you see here are by one of the club’s husband and wife teams – Alan and Mary Bevis; Alan’s being the Steam Age Giant and Mary’s the Marbled White Sheltering.
We meet on Tuesday evenings in the Parish Hall (assuming all goes as expected with lifting of restrictions) and our first session is 7th September and after that most Tuesday evenings at 7,30. Do come along and see what we have to offer – you will be most welcome. In the meantime, we have our annual exhibition at the town Hall on Saturday 21st August.
