New Wareham Mayor for 2021 to 2022

Councillor Keith Green elected as Town Mayor, with Councillor Malcolm Russell as his Deputy.

Following the Town Council meeting on 2 March 2021, Councillor Keith Green was elected as Town Mayor for the Civic Year 2021 to 2022. He took office on 5 May 2021 after the Mayor Making Ceremony.

He will be accompanied to events by his wife, Councillor Vera Green, who is standing at his side in the main photo above.

Councillor Keith Green has been a Member of Wareham Town Council since 1998 and has served on many committees over the years and is currently Chairman of the Planning and Transport Committee.  He served as Mayor in 2003 and again in 2012 and is a member of the Liberal Democrat Party.

Councillor Green plans to support Wareham Scout and Guide Groups as his chosen charity for the year.

Councillor Malcolm Russell

At the same meeting Councillor Malcolm Russell was elected Deputy Town Mayor for the Civic Year 2021 to 2022. He will deputise for the Mayor when he is unable to attend meetings and other Civic events.

Councillor Russell has been a Member of the Town Council for twenty years and has also served on many committees over the years. Malcolm is the Council’s Military Representative. He has been Mayor on three previous occasions.
