Situated in stunning heathland at the heart of the Isle of Purbeck, the Halfway Inn is the meet point between the historic market town of Wareham, and William the Conqueror’s Corfe Castle. The Halfway Inn is well known for its warm, dog-friendly hospitality and quality fresh food offer.

The pub itself dates back to the 16th century and was originally used as a thatched-roof-farmhouse. Several original features remain including wattle and daub walls and flagstone floors. The Halfway continues to ooze character with log burning fires, a spacious garden room and traditional Dorset ales on tap. This rural gem must be visited to truly be appreciated – we warmly welcome you!

We are now open all day and serving food and drinks all day too:

12.00 – 20.30

12:00 – 19:00

Q Private Dining

Whether you want to host a private party, a business meeting or a reunion or meet up, we have the perfect space for you. Our beautiful, bright new Garden Room can be booked for private dining.
Please be aware that social distancing applies and groups of more than 6 will be sat on separate tables - although this can be in one area if there is availability.

Q Sunday Lunch

We love Sundays at the Halfway Inn, most of all because we get to treat our guests to our delectable, freshly carved Roast Dinners all served with seasonal veg, roasties, a giant homemade Yorkshire pudding and fresh gravy.
